PetroChina taps ultra-deep Xinjiang reserves as China accelerates domestic output drive
PetroChina's Hade-Fuman oilfield has produced more than 26 million tonnes of oil equivalent from reservoirs deeper than 6,000 metres. The milestone arrives as China's 15th five-year plan sets a binding domestic production target of 440 million tonnes of oil equivalent by 2030.
